MAU MAKAN APA?
'mau makan apa?' or 'what to eat?' is a relatively uknown webtoon created by indonesian artist labirhin. The entire series was uploaded onto indonesian webtoon on the 3rd of may 2024, and is currently getting an animated series (Currently theres only one episode, which is 'DEUS EX MACHINA PILOT')
what is it about?
The story is based sometime between 2018 and 2020, in a world where almost all life has vanished from earth because of a volcano erupting, resulting in volcanic ash blocking most of the sunlight. Because of this, only certain types of fish, bugs, and a specific species of cocoa-soybean hybrid plant have survived (this is CRUCIAL to the plot, as all remaining life forms consider this cocoa-soybeans to be poisonous)
Sometime after this volcanic eruption, a man named jaya abadi proceeds to create 'tempeh' from the cocoa-soybean plant, which makes the previously toxic plant edible. Because of this discovery, jaya abadi and atom-o (a state owned company) would go on to create more projects, most notable being: global cooling, a project that cools the earth as the sun gest hotter. Sky scraper, giant satellites that gain energy from the sun. And switch star, an in-development project that plans to completely switch the sun out for a nearby star
However, not all projects ran smoothly. During the production of the jaya abadi factory, a leak occured where all trash and debris ;eaked into the ocean, poisoning all fish and making them inedible. This incident when unseen for years, which killed many people, and also made tempeh and other jaya abadi products everyone's main source of food.however, another volcano erupted suddenly in october. In order to prevent the smoke from further blocking out the sun, jaya abadi planned to put a protective layer over the mountain to protect everyone. This failed horribly. The layer was unable to lock correctly on the volcano and hot ash spread through the cities nearby, killing thousands. The pilot of this mission, raas busok, was never found.
Who are the main characters?
GIX BUSOK-
The main character, and also the child of raas busok. Its implied that he can shapeshift, and is the reason that most of the ks escaped.
EXOWORO-
The love interest of Gix busok, originally meeting him after gix had time travelled to giver her a document. She is also Gix's roommate at one point, mostly due to the fact that the person that he was living with in the start of the series is killed off.(the creator also decided to make her obese, which isnt a bad thing but considering the things he does on twitter I wouldn't be suprised if its to do with something else)
